Posterior sagittal rectoanoplasty (PSRAP) is the procedure of choice for correcting the intermediate and high type malformation
During operation, the rectum in rectovaginal fistula is identified

The rectum is dissected free from the vagina in rectovaginal fistula

The rectum is relocated through the striated muscle complex and pulled through for rectoanoplasty

A new anus is created at the normal site , the size is varied according to the age of patient
