สังเกตุลักษณะหน้าตาของผู้ป่วยว่ามีลักษณะอาการที่บ่งชี้ว่าเข้าได้กับกลุ่มอาการใด
เช่น Trisomy 2l
(CAVC, inlet type VSD), Turner syndrome (COAT), Noonan syndrome (PS, ASD), Leopard syndrome (PS), Rubella syndrome (PPS, PDA), Holt-Oram syndrome (ASD, VSD), มี differential cyanosis (COAT, Persistent fetal circulation) ตัวเล็กกว่าอายุ (congestive heart failure) มีอาการซีด (low cardiac output) อาการเขียวว่าเป็นลักษณะของ central หรือ peripheral cyanosis |
