CARCINOMA OF THE STOMACHMORPHOLOGIC VARIANTS OF GASTRIC ADENOCARCINOMAGastric Carcinoma with Rhabdoid Features
This is a recently described rare variant of gastric carcinoma with a poor
prognosis. The tumor has a diffuse or alveolar arrangement and is composed of
round to polygonal tumor cells with eosinophilic or clear cytoplasm and large
eccentric vesicular nuclei similar to those seen in malignant rhabdoid tumors
of the kidney. In all cases, there was coexpression of vimentin and
cytokeratin in the cytoplasm (252).
