Papillary Urothelial Hyperplasia

The epithelium is not atypical and its thickness is variable but it exhibits an undulating, "tenting," or papillary-like contour which resembles a micropapillary neoplasm. [8,45,99] However, it lacks a well-developed fibrovascular core. The significance of these changes is uncertain. Some may represent evolving papillary tumors and follow-up is indicated (Fig. 3, Fig. 4).
