Villous Adenoma

This is considered to be a benign neoplasm of the bladder or urachus with a significant association with adenocarcinoma. Papillary fronds are lined by tall, pseudostratified epithelium of the colonic-type (Fig. 1). They are similar to the villous and tubulovillous adenomas of the large bowel. Nuclei are dark, elongated, and basal in location (Fig. 2). Prominent nucleoli, if present, would indicate malignant change. Complete excision and close follow up is necessary when villous adenoma is diagnosed.[2,27,88].
