ACUTE FIBRINOUS INFLAMMATION
The organ is heart. A normal myocardium is shown (Fig.1).
The
epicardium shows acute fibrinous inflammation in superficial area and
may shoes organizing inflammation in deeper area (Fig.2).
Acute fibrinous inflammation is characterized by polymorphonuclear leucocyte infiltration and significant amount of admixed fibrinous exudate (Fig.3). Higher power (Fig.4).
If more neutrophils are seen, the term " purulent” is added and called fibrino-purulent inflammation:
Depend on stage of the inflammation, organizing inflammation may be seen (Fig.5).
Organizing inflammation consists of
capillary proliferation, young fibroblast, and mixed ( PMNs, plasma cells,
macrophages, lymphocyte) inflammatory cell infiltration (Fig.6).
