Soft tissue, an intramuscular mass
Alveolar soft part sarcoma (malignant nonchromaffin paraganglioma or malignant granular cell myoblastoma) : Microscopic high powe reveals the neoplastic cells containing abundant granular acidophilic cytoplasm with distint cellular border and a round to oval nucleus with prominent nucleolus. The neoplastic cells form an organoid pattern (alveolar) seperated by a delicate small-caliber vascular structure.

The exact original nature of the neoplastic cell is still in doubt. Myoblastic derivation is under investigation.
