Fat necrosis
Fat necrosis, or enzymatic fat necrosis, in acute pancreatitis : Microscopic low power, a case of acute
pancreatitis, displays interstitial fat necrosis of pancreas manifesting as amorphous homogeneous pink to
basophilic appearance interspersed by polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Pancreatic parenchyma is shown at the
right upper corner of the picture.
